Skate City Learn-to-Play Hockey Program
This program introduces players and families to inline hockey within a fun and supportive learning environment.
Players will learn about equipment and develop fundamental skills with the main emphasis on learning how to skate.
We offer the Learn-to-Play Hockey Program at all 6 of our Skate City Locations in Colorado.
Skate City Austin Bluffs (Colorado Springs)

Skate City Aurora
Skate City Littleton
Skate City Arvada
Skate City Westminster
Once completed, players should have enough knowledge/skill to participate in a youth rec league.
If players are already experienced skaters, we recommend they go directly into a youth rec league.
Learn-to-Play Hockey Program Includes:
FREE pair of skates for first time sign ups
Eight 45 minute practices on Monday evenings
Instruction provided by team of in-house professional coaches
Skate City supplies gloves, shin guards, and helmets for any players that need them - all players should have their own stick and elbow pads (recommended)
Program Fee: $90
What We Teach:
Week 1 - Skating Techniques, proper way to hold the stick
Week 2 - Puck Handling, skating with the puck
Week 3 - Passing & Catching the Puck
Week 4 - Shooting the Puck, wrist shot and slap shot
Week 5 - Backwards Skating & Defensive Techniques
Week 6 - Review of all skills plus Inline Hockey positions
Week 7 - Scrimmage Games
Please arrive 20-30 minutes early to get equipment on.
